Roof tent on the car
Roof tent on the car
Here is a somewhat different kind of experience report: We are pleased that our Wettertuete can also be used in other ways. In this case as a roof tent:
Hello dear weather bag team,
I would like to contact you again briefly following my inquiry last year. At the time, I didn't want to use your Wettertüte as furniture protection as usual, but as rain protection for my roof tent on the car for a trip to Norway. One problem with our roof tent is that although it is rainproof, the damp tent wall is "stowed" in the closed box during the day. It can't dry out here, nor does it make the mattress in the tent any more comfortable, the moisture eventually soaks in and everything gets clammy. So I looked for an overlap solution and found it with you. After the made-to-measure solution seemed a little too expensive, I bought a standard size with the 2.0 fabric from your store in June.
And now we are back home from our trip. The cover worked very well, it fitted almost perfectly on our roof tent, it just wasn't made to measure. To facilitate good ventilation and access, I fitted telescopic rails to tension the cover at the sides. This meant we could get in and out dry and the cover was also well braced against the wind. And in Norway it practically "saved" us! Whether storm, rain or sunshine, the cover kept us and especially our roof tent dry, so that we never had to fold it up wet or let it dry. It was also much warmer in the roof tent, as there was a kind of insulation layer, and without condensation on the roof tent or the Wettertüte. A real benefit and we could sleep soundly every night!
The fabric 2.0 is really brilliant. It was absolutely waterproof, quick-drying, windproof, flexibly stretchable and didn't tear. More like a miracle bag than Wettertüte;-)
So this is certainly not the usual purpose and certainly the first feedback of this kind, but perhaps this will be included in your program. J
Here are a few more photos in "action" to give you an impression.
